Donation Kicks Off CMS Media Center Transformation Project

The Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS) recently granted $45,800 to begin transformation of the Central Middle School (CMS) media center into a high-tech learning center.

As part of its ongoing contributions to Eden Prairie students, the Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS) recently granted $45,800 to begin transformation of the Central Middle School (CMS) media center into a high-tech learning center.

“We are seeing significant changes in how students learn and how teachers teach now that we are moving toward a more digital environment,” said Joe Epping, CMS principal. “We are very pleased that FEPS is willing to be our partner in transforming the media center from a print-focused space to a technology-focused facility.”

The media center transformation will take place in several stages with the first beginning this summer. The money from FEPS will be used to create student work stations with movable partitions. The work stations can be configured for large groups, small groups and individual students. As part of the partnership, the district is also adding additional LCD projectors that align to the iPad stations. The funds for these items will come from the district’s technology budget.
