Eden Prairie Frisbee Golf Course Booming in Popularity

The "Frolf" craze has helped propel local businessman to success.

Low-cost and simple to pick up, Frisbee Golf has grown far beyond being a Seinfeld punch line. According to WCCO, Eden Prairie's Bryant Lake Park is seeing the benefits of the sport's surge in popularity. 

"This is one of the nicest courses I've ever shot, anywhere," Edina resident and "frolf" enthusiast Kyle McClellan told WCCO. "It's always well-maintained."

Bryant Lake has invested in some serious landscaping for its course, down to bag hooks at each tee, that make it feel a lot like a "normal" golf course.

The sport is even spreading to young people, the television station reports, and it helped propel at least one local businessman to success. In its 20-year existence, Golden Valley resident Charlie Hutchinson's company Gotta Go Throw has blossomed.

“I’ve taken this company from doing literally a couple thousand (Frisbees) a year to a few million a year,” Hutchinson said.
