Freshman and New Student Orientation - Wednesday, August 28, 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
All 9th graders and new students are invited to attend Orientation. This will provide them with an opportunity to receive information to help them begin a successful year. Students will walk through their first term schedule, meet their teachers, and meet other new students in their classes. They will also receive information on locker assignments/combinations, a first week schedule, and Food Service information. Lunch will not be provided.

Open House - Wednesday, August 28
This is an opportunity for you to follow your student’s class schedule, meet their teachers and be able to greet other parents. We encourage ALL parents to attend! Here is a flyer with the open house schedule.
Special meeting for Parents of Freshman/New Students
Prior to the beginning of the all parent Open House, Parents of Freshmen and New Students are invited to meet in the Performing Arts Center from 5:30 p.m. - 6:25 p.m. on Aug. 28. The purpose of the meeting is for parents to meet school personnel important to their student's success and receive information that will support their student in the transition to a new school.
Student Drop Offs/Pick-Ups
Students being dropped off/picked up for school may use any of the three main entrances – North, South or East. And, to ensure student safety where buses come, no cars are allowed in the bus zone on the east side entrance of the high school from 7:15 a.m.–8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.–3 p.m.
"Senior Privilege" Details
Senior privileges will be distributed the first week of school in Connections Class. These privileges will go into effect upon receipt. If seniors missed the deadline to apply for senior privilege last year, they may apply for second term at the end of term one. Please understand that students involved in disruptive or disrespectful activities to start the school year will NOT receive their senior privilege for the first term of the school year and will be disciplined according to the student management guidelines. All school fines must be paid before the Senior Privilege will be issued.
Parent/Student Handbook Guidelines
The 2013/14 Handbook for Parents/Guardians and Students will be reviewed with students the first week of school. Students/families can access the handbook. Students at EPHS are responsible for all policies and procedures in the Parent/Student handbook. Students will be required to sign a release form in Connections for the Dean of Students indicating that they have reviewed the handbook.
Educational Talent Search
In cooperation with Hennepin Technical College, EPHS is offering the Educational Talent Search Program. This is a federally funded program through the U.S Department of Education that provides college preparatory, readiness, and success services to students that may come from low-income families, or whose parents do not have baccalaureate degree.
