Letter: Why I'm Grateful To Be An Eden Prairie Firefighter

To the editor,

I joined the Eden Prairie Fire Department in 2011 with the foremost desire to serve my community and to carry on a long lived family tradition of fire service work.

I am grateful to be an Eden Prairie firefighter for many reasons, but here are just a few: the Eden Prairie Fire Department has a premier training program which delivers countless new experiences each week; the ability to move onward and upward within the department; the work experience gained on duty crew shifts are beneficial to my career goals; the command staff of the department is determined to ensure everyone stays on track and is treated with the respect they deserve; and the tight-knit group of fellow firefighters.

The Eden Prairie Fire Department is currently recruiting new firefighters. I highly encourage anyone who has ever thought about being a firefighter in Eden Prairie to visit edenprairie.org/epfdrecruiting to learn more about the process.
