Saturday Search Planned For Mandy Matula

Community groups continue to search for Mandy Matula, and a large-scale search is being planned for Saturday.

The 24-year-old Eden Prairie woman has been missing since the night of May 1.

Eden Prairie police released maps Wednesday of the areas where Mandy Matula might be located.

The areas are in Benton, Carver, Sherburne, Stearns and Wright counties. Two maps are attached to this article. You can find a link to a Google Earth map on the city's website. The area in Carver County is near Victoria and along Highway 5 west of Highway 41.

On Thursday, law enforcement agencies in Stearns and Wright counties were searching sections of the Mississippi River.

Investigators would also like residents and property owners to search those areas. They also are asking Eden Prairie residents to search their property.

Mandy's brother, Steven, has posted answers to questions on the page regarding the disappearance of Mandy and ex-boyfriend David Roe, who is now deceased. 

"This is so overwhelming just do not have any words," wrote Mandy's mom, Lisa Matula, on Thursday. "But I am so amazed on the support my family has on finding my daughter. I can not even express how grateful we are or how blessed we are for all the friends and people we do not even know trying to find her and bring her home." 

Lisa Matula also wrote that she has stayed out of interviews and talking to reporters because she can't handle it.
