Cilantro Sold at Jerry's Foods Potentially Tainted with Salmonella
Customers who purchased cilantro bundles in Edina and Eden Prairie between July 26 and Aug. 6 should either dispose of the herb or return it to the grocery store for a refund.
Cilantro sold at stores in both Edina and Eden Prairie could potentially be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA).
Routine testing by the MDA found Salmonella lurking in fresh cilantro bunches sold to retail stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan between July 26 and Aug. 6. A full list of stores where the cilantro was sold is available online.
Stores that purchased the cilantro have already been notified by the MDA to remove the product from their shelves, with the advisory only applying to cilantro shipped to the stores within the aforementioned timeframe.

While no confirmed illnesses have been reported in association with this cilantro, the MDA encourages anyone who believes they might have become ill with Salmonella to seek medical attention. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and abdominal pain. The organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
