Cornelia Craft Bazaar Raises $3,800 for Feed My Starving Children
Fifth graders at the Edina elementary school raised money by selling original crafts during their 32nd-annual bazaar.
The fifth grade class at Cornelia Elementary School raised more than $3,800 for Feed My Starving Children earlier this month, during the school's 32nd-annual craft bazaar.
Students came up with their own projects, then had them approved by their teachers. They then worked on the handcrafted goods up until the day of the event, with prices ranging between 50 cents and four dollars. They then opened the bazaar to fellow students, parents and community members.
"The annual Craft Bazaar is a great community building event," said Cornelia Principal Chris Holden. "It provides the opportunity for fifth grade students to not only create and market their own product, but to also give back to a charity of their choosing."
