The city is holding its first neighborhood workshop on Saturday to talk to residents about the new neighborhood policy, how Edina citizens can connect their neighborhoods and the resources the city offers organized neighborhoods. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 28, at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square.Here's more from the city:Recognized neighborhood associations foster communication by distributing information so that residents can make informed decisions; enabling two-way communication between neighborhoods and city government on matters of interest such as zoning changes, redevelopment projects, park projects and small area plans; and creating smaller venues for interaction. Recognized neighborhood associations also build community through cooperative action by organizing voluntary projects based on community interests; supporting other City programs such as Adopt-a-Park, Neighbors Home Watch and Nite to Unite; promoting social activities; and ensuring neighborhood safety and security.
