Edina Skater Wins Award at Figure Skating Competition
Sydney Schnell was one of five local honorees at the Twin City Figure Skating Association's Basic Skills Competition Series.

Edina resident Sydney Schnell was among five members of the Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club who won awards during the Twin City Figure Skating Association's Basic Skills Competition Series (BSC).
The BSC is designed to introduce beginning skaters to competitive figure skating in Minnesota. Schnell was alongside Tenley Rutledge of Chanhassen and Eden Prairie residents Jacie Gerber, Mary Nystrom and Cindy Kim in receiving awards during the series.
Each of the young skaters earned the highest point totals in their specific level freestlyle event at competitions held throughout the Twin Cities throughout the skating season. A banquet at the Bloomington Ice Garden this summer honored the winners with trophies for excellence in the sport.
