The lives of a dozen Edina veterans will be remembered during a special ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Edina Senior Center.
Edina resident and researcher Marshall Schwartz is hosting the program in honor of Veterans Day, telling the stories of 12 Edina residents killed in action during various conflicts. The program kicks off at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Senior Center.
The veterans include everything from a Blake graduate who served in World War II after attending Harvard to a local man who volunteered to serve in Vietnam because he felt a patriotic duty.

Schwartz started researching every Edina resident killed in action in hopes of inscribing their names on the planned Veterans Memorial at Utley Park. Schwartz found the deceased soldiers' stories so fascinating, he compiled the biographies of the 32 men into a self-published book.
The event is free and open to the public, with light refreshments planned.
