Intoxicated Minneapolis Woman Arrested for Fleeing Scene of Accident

Monday, Oct. 8

• Police responded to the 5200 block of Villa Way on a report of theft. An unknown person stole a license plate valued at $200.
• Police responded to the 6400 block of York Avenue on a report of theft from auto. An unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle parked in an underground garage and stole a laptop valued at $1,500.
• Police responded to the 7300 block of France Avenue South on a report of counterfeit currency. The incident jurisdiction was transferred to Secret Service.
• Hussein Sheikh Dahir, 53, of Minneapolis, was arrested for 3rd degree DWI after his vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Valley View Road and Hwy. 62.
• Police responded to the 6100 block of Xerxes Avenue on a report of property damage. An unknown person reportedly slashed two tires on a vehicle. The damage was estimated at $200.
• Police responded to the 3300 block of Edinborough Way on a report of theft. A briefcase was placed on the pavement in a parking lot, then was gone when the victim returned. The briefcase and its contents were valued at $171.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

• Police responded to the 5500 block of 66th Street on a report of a found bicycle.
• A victim came to the Edina Police Department to turn in a found iPod Nano.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

• Police responded to the 7700 block of Tanglewood Court on a report of identity theft. The victim reported the fraudulent use of a name and Social Security number.
• Police responded to Fairview Southdale Hospital on a report of a missing juvenile.
• Police responded to the 4300 block of Brookside Court on a report of lost property. A wallet valued at $50 was reported missing.
• Paige Smith David, 47, of Minneapolis, was arrested for 2nd degree DWI and obstructing the legal process after leaving the scene of an accident at the intersection of France Avenue and 44th Street.
