Jay Leno Pokes Fun at Edina Woman Who Made Nephew Ride in Trunk of Lexus
Leno mentioned the local incident during his monologue on the Sept. 20 episode of "The Tonight Show."

The rather unusual charges brought against an Edina woman accused of making her 11-year-old nephew—who'd just finished a day of fun at Valleyfair—ride in the trunk of her Lexus for fear of getting her leather seats wet is getting national attention.
As we previously reported, 38-year-old Susan McCarty faces a gross-misdemeanor child endangerment charge for making her nephew ride in the trunk of her lexus from Valleyfair to his Wayzata home.
Edina Police later responded to her home, at which point they said she was agitated and argumentative. McCarty reportedly admitted to transporting the minor in the trunk of her 2008 Lexus sedan "because he was soaking went and she did not want her leather seats to get wet."

Leno—a well-established car enthusiast and collector—briefly recapped the story for his audience before joking, "And the poblem is what?"
"Mother of the year, as far as I'm concerned," Leno said. "Thank you. Get your wet [expletive] out of my car."
