Major Chunk of Highway 169 Closed this Weekend

The closure will start at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9.

Both directions of Hwy. 169 between Valley View Road and I-494 will close this weekend, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The closure will began at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9.

News release from MnDOT: Posted detours will direct motorists to bypass the closure via Hwy. 212, Hwy. 62 and Hwy. 100.

Access to Eden Prairie Center, local businesses and neighborhoods adjacent to the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange will remain open and available during the closure.

Hwy. 212 and local roadways that service neighborhoods and other businesses south of I-494 will remain unaffected.

Part of the Hwy. 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is necessary as crews stripe Hwy. 169 and continue work on bridge decks above it.

The Hwy. 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
