Man Caught Stealing Donation Jar from Edina Gas Station

The Brooklyn Park man was reportedly apprehended with the donation jar, $24.86 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

  • Phuc Trong Nguyen, 39, of Booklyn Park, was arrested for theft after allegedly stealing a donation jar from Super America. Nguyen was apprehended with the donation jar, $24.86 in cash and drug paraphernalia on his person.

  • Lila K Guthrie, 31, of Brooklyn Park, was arrested for theft after allegedly attempting to shoplift $15.97 in merchandise from Walgreen's on York Avenue.
  • Police responded to the intersection of Hwy. 169 and I-494 on a report of theft. An unknown person reportedly stole a skid loader valued at $50,000 from the construction site at the intersection.
  • A 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were cited for trespassing and juvenile use of tobacco at Southdale Center.

Thursday, Jan. 10

  • Jason Richard Sweet, 23, of Eden Prairie, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation near Braemar Boulevard and Valley View Road.
  • Police responded to the 6100 block of Oaklawn Avenue on a report of harassing communications.
  • Clyde David Cummins, 53, of Minneapolis, was arrested for driving after cancellation inimical to public safety after a traffic stop near the intersection of France Avenue and 47th Street.
  • Police responded to the Perkins Restaurant on a report of theft. An unknown person reportedly stole an iPhone valued at $179 from a customer.
  • Police responded to the 5400 block of France Avenue on a report of a burglary. An unknown person forced entry into a residence and took TVs, jewelry and a laptop valued at $1,170 in total.
  • Police responded to the 3900 block of 70th Street on a report of a found license plate.
  • Police responded to the 7700 block of Shaughnessy Road on a report of a burglary. An unknown person forced entry into a residence, but there was no apparent loss.

  • Police responded to the 5600 block of Warden Avenue on a report of a burglary. An unknown person forced entry into a residence and stole a TV valued at $1,200.
  • Police responded to the Galleria on a report of theft. A Coach purse that had been on display at one of the mall's stores was reported missing from a display. The purse was valued at $398.
  • Police responded to the 6500 block of France Avenue on a report of theft. A wallet valued at $48 was reportedly stolen from a purse in the employee area of the office by an unknown person.

Saturday, Jan. 12

  • Police responded to the 4000 block of 65th Street on a report of harassing communications.
  • Michael Phouvieng Baccam, 27, of Savage, was arrested for fleeing police in a motor vehicle after officers made a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy. 169 and Valley View Road.
