Northbound Hwy. 100 Closed this Weekend for Maintenance

The roadway will close to traffic at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, and is set to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.

Northbound Hwy. 100 between Hwy. 62 and I-394 will be closed throughout the upcoming weekend as Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) crews perform maintenance work.

More than five miles of the busy roadway are set to close to traffic at 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, while workers inspect overpasses and make repairs to bridges, signs and drainage systems. The northbound lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to detour along westbound Hwy. 62, northbound Hwy. 169 and eastbound I-394.

The weekend closure is designed to lessen the number of non-rush hour lane closures needed during a given week, according to MnDOT. Officials also say it will be a more efficient use of available resources.

The southbound lanes of the same segment of Hwy. 100 are set to see a similar fate the following weekend, with a full closure planned for Aug. 25-27.
