celebrated the opening of the school's , when hundreds of Edina families descended to try out the equipment.

Judging by how difficult it was to pull kids away from the playground for the ribbon cutting, it's safe to say the structure is a resounding success.

Rachel Jerstad, whose family foundation donated the initial $10,000 to get the project off the ground, said they decided to help Cornelia because they knew a new playground would be good not just for the school, but for the entire community.

"There are so many different things for kids to do here," Jerstad said. "It's an update for certain, but the new playground is so much more wheelchair accessible than the old one. It's wonderful."
