(PHOTOS) Hornets Sting Undefeated Trojans with Homecoming Loss
The Hornets are now 6-1 heading into a tough matchup against Eden Prairie this Friday, Oct. 12.
The Edina High School football team is 6-1 after yet another strong win over a Lake Conference rival.
The Hornets squeaked out a 20-17 win against the Wayzata Trojans, the second straight week Edina defeated an opponent during that team's homecoming game.
Edina cruised to an early 13-0 lead, but the Trojans fired back with 17 unanswered points of lead 17-13 headed into the fourth quarter. The Hornets contained Wayzata's offense the entire game, holding the Trojans to less than 100 total yards.

Late in the fourth quarter of play, Edina quarterback Mark Handberg floated a beautiful pass over Wayzata's single coverage of Marley Allison, resulting in a 98-yard touchdown. Edina's defense managed to keep the Trojans at bay for the remainder of the game, sealing the team's win.

The Hornets head to Eden Prairie to take on the undefeated Eagles (6-0 overall, 2-0 conference) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. The Eagles are having an impressive season, most recently shellacking Minnetonka 42-7.
