Red Flag Warning Issued for Edina, Hennepin County
Recreational fires are banned for most of south central Minnesota through Tuesday night at 9 p.m. due to a combination of high winds, low humidity and rising temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning for all of Hennepin County—including Edina—meaning recreational fires are banned through Tuesday evening.
A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures in the region will create the potential for explosive fire growth, according to the NWS. With temperatures expected to climb into the 80s Monday afternoon and humidity values dropping to near 20 percent, dangerous wildfire conditions will blanket much of south central Minnesota.
Recreational fires will not be permitted through 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. The urges extreme caution when using anything that emits heat, as fires can start easily and spread quickly.

Following a brief break in the fire danger Monday night, temperatures are forecast to rise into the upper 80s and lower 90s Tuesday. A cold front is expected to move into western Minnesota Tuesday afternoon, which the NWS said could reduce the fire danger as it spreads across the state.
