School District Hosting Legislative Forum

Newly-elected legislators Melisa Franzen, Ron Erhardt and Paul Rosenthal will all take part in the district-hosted forum.

Edina Public Schools will be hosting the city's three newly-elected legislators next Monday night, when the district holds a legislative forum at the Edina Community Center.

Sen. Melisa Franzen (DFL) and State Reps. Paul Rosenthal (DFL) and Ron Erhardt (DFL) will all be in attendance for the forum.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, in Room 350 of the Community Center. It's free and open to the public, who are invited to come hear about what they can expect during the upcoming legislative session.

Discussion is slated to focus on current educational opportunities and challenges facing Edina Public Schools. District officials believe the next few months of planning are crucial to the results of the 2013 legislative session.

"This is when the political bodies’ and lobbying organizations’ priorities will be framed," officials said in a release.
