Take a Stroll Through Edina with Mayor Hovland

In an effort to both keep active and engage residents in new ways, Edina Mayor Jim Hovland is leading his first monthly "Walk With the Mayor" this Saturday, Jan. 19.

Hovland and interested walkers will gather on the first floor of Southdale Center at 9 a.m., just outside of Macy's. The planned two-mile walk is a first for Hovland, though he will be taking part in one on the third Saturday morning of every month at various Edina locations.

"Through 'Walk With the Mayor,' I can get to know residents and be active at the same time," Hovland said. "We'll walk a different route each month to see different parts of our community. Some walks will be indoors, some outdoors during warmer months."
