Trumpet Reported Missing, Found Near Scene of Crime

A purse was also stolen from a stroller left unattended at Wooddale Park.

Friday, Aug. 10

  • Police responded to the 6400 block of France Avenue South on a report of theft. An unknown person forcibly entered a vehicle and stole a $50 cell phone.
  • Police responded to the 6900 block of France Avenue South on a report of theft. An unknown person stole seven steel construction angles valued at $700 from a construction site.
  • Police responded to on a report of disorderly conduct. A victim told officers an unidentified person had been harassing them at the park.
  • Police responded to the 5100 block of Abercrombie Drive on a report of possible identity theft.
  • A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested for underage consumption, runaway and a curfew violation after he was located by Richfield Police near 66th Street and Xerxes Avenue.
  • Police responded to the 6600 block of Vernon Avenue South on a report of a dispute between a tenant and an apartment manager.
  • Three New York residents were arrested for theft by swindle after they were found to have used a credit card scam to obtain iPads and computers valued at $19,797 in total from the .
  • Police responded to the intersection of Southdale Road and West 68th Street on a report of found property.
  • A 28-year-old Minnetonka woman was arrested for driving after revocation, no insurance and failure to yield after she was involved in a car crash at the intersection of France Avenue South and West 68th Street.
  • Police responded to on a report of theft. An unknown person stole a purse and its contents valued at $726 from a stroller while it was left unattended in the park.
  • A 21-year-old Bloomington man was arrested for 4th degree DWI after his vehicle was involved in a car crash near the intersection of southbound Hwy. 169 and eastbound Hwy. 62.

  • A 27-year-old Eden Prairie man was arrested for 3rd degree DWI at the on Interlachen Boulevard. Police responded to a call of an intoxicated male at the gas station and subsequently arrested him for DWI.
  • Police responded to the 5200 block of Vernon Avenue South on a report of two separate vehicles that left the gas station without paying for $102.83 in gasoline.
  • Police responded to the intersection of Orchard Lane and Cooper Avenue on a report of a found cell phone.
  • A 19-year-old St. Louis Park man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after he was driving was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of I-494 and France Avenue South.
  • A 20-year-old Edina man was arrested for possession of synthetic drugs after a vehicle he was riding in was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of I-494 and France Avenue South.
  • Police responded to the 6400 block of France Avenue South on a report of theft. An unknown person forcibly entered a vehicle and stole an iPad and CPAP machine valued at $2,900 in total.
  • Police responded to the 6000 block of Hansen Road on a report of burglary. An unknown person reportedly entered the victim's residence, but did not appear to have stolen anything.

Sunday, Aug. 12

  • Police responded to the 5200 block of Villa way on a report of theft. No suspects were located, however a stolen $100 trumpet was recovered near the crime scene.
  • Police responded to the 5200 block of Villa Way on a report of someone rummaging through a victim's vehicle. Nothing was reported missing, according to police.
  • Police responded to the 7300 block of France Avenue South on a report of theft. An unknown person stole a driver's license, debit card and a club membership card from a victim's wallet. The items were valued at $17 in total.
  • Police responded to on a report of theft. A $400 cell phone was reported stolen, but was later recovered.
  • Two 17-year-old boys were arrested after a vehicle they were in was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Porter Lane and West 60th Street. They were charged with an open bottle violation, possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.
