Twelve-year-old Northfield sixth grader Drew Blauvelt recently became the first junior to win singles at the 2025 Minnesota State Cornhole Championship, beating several pros and showcasing how local leagues and mentors helped turn backyard practice into a statewide title.
   

• Xcel retirees gather for over three decades, form a 'family' bond (southernminn.com) — For more than three decades, Xcel Energy retirees have been meeting monthly at Faribault Family Restaurant, turning former coworkers into a tight-knit “family.” Men now travel from across southern Minnesota to share breakfast, support one another through loss, and honor the often-overlooked work they did keeping the power on.
