The publicΒ safety event isΒ an opportunity to get to know your neighbors while partnering with law enforcement, creating safer communities and building stronger relationships, according to Fridley Police.Β

Moore Than Dance Open House Thursday
Moore Than Dance,Β 1220 East Moore Lake Dr., will hold an open house at 5 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 8). Β There will be food,Β food, prizes, games and fun! You can register for fall classes, meet the teachers and be eligible for referral discounts.Β

Watercolor Basics for Kids on Monday Morning
The Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, 6666 East River Road, Fridley, will hold a watercolor basics class at 10 a.m.Β Monday (Aug. 5).Β
This class for budding artists ages 7 to 12 will cover how to use watercolors including learning how to controlΒ water flow and use color and light to make beautiful watercolors. Β
Taught by watercolor painter Joyce VanderWyst, the class isΒ Β $30 per student for the week. Β For further information, call 763.574.1850.
Free Fridley City Band Concert on Thursday
The Fridley City Band will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 8) at Prince of Peace Church (across from Unity Hospital), Β 7700 Monroe St. NE in Spring Lake Park.Β
Refreshments will be provided and organizers say, "Feel free to bring chairs/blankets and a food item for SACA ( Southern Anoka Community Assistance).Β
