Update: Forty-Nine West Nile Virus Cases in Minnesota, Including Two Deaths
The latest update was released Monday, Sept. 16, by the Minnesota Department of Health. No human cases have been confirmed in Wisconsin.

The state agencyΒ reports that the most casesβfour eachβhave been confirmed in Polk County in northwest Minnesota and Stevens County in western Minnesota. In Anoka County, there has been one case of West Nile virus and one blood donor case.Β
Two people have died of the virus. Those were confirmed earlier this summer.Β
βThe typical incubation period for West Nile is two to six days, although it can be as long as 15 days,β according to the MDH.
In 2012, 70 cases of West Nile were reported in Minnesota.
