Youth Football Sign-ups Thursday Night at Fridley Community Center

The Fridley Youth Sports Association will hold sign-ups for youth football (grades 2-7) on Thursday (Aug. 1) at the Fridley Community Center, 6085 7th St NE.
Registration time is from  6:30 to 9 p.m. 
Fee is $85 per kid with football practices starting next week and league play ending in latter October. 
Last year, more than 100 kids participated in Fridley youth football, according to Joe Westenfield, a spokesman for the youth football group.

The Fridley Housing and Redevelopment Authority meets at 7 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 1) at Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Ave. NE

Open House at Fridley New Horizon Academy

The New Horizon Academy in Fridley ( 999 E. Moore Lake Drive)  will hold a fall open house starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 1).

"Parents and their children will have the opportunity to  tour the facilities and classrooms, meet the teachers and staff and learn more about New Horizon Academy’s early education and child development programs," according to Academy officials. 

Accredited by the National Association for the education of Young
Children, New Horizon Academy offers full-time and part-time schedules for
infants through school-age children.
