Camille Balhorn, a Robbinsdale Middle School student, won third place and took home a bronze medal at a national history contest earlier this month.
She presented her project on the 1909 Boundary Waters Treaty between Great Britain and the United States at the Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland.
"I got great experience in research skills,” Camille said in a news release from the Robbinsdale School District. “It was a topic I was really interested in, which is something I would suggest to others. Pick a topic and category that you enjoy and then go with it. I knew that we had land treaties, but I didn’t know anything about water treaties, and I wanted to learn more.”
