The resignations followed pressure from Justice Department officials to pursue an investigation into Good’s widow while declining to involve state authorities in reviewing the shooting itself, people familiar with the decision told the Times.
The Times reported that the prosecutors objected to shifting investigative focus toward the victim’s family and to the federal government’s refusal to allow state participation in determining whether the shooting was lawful.

The departures come amid growing public outrage over Good’s death and ongoing protests in Minnesota and elsewhere, as federal authorities continue to lead the investigation without state oversight.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is escalating its immigration enforcement surge in Minnesota, announcing plans to send roughly 1,000 additional federal officers to the Twin Cities on top of an already massive deployment of 2,000.
