City Department Preparing Paperwork for FEMA

Fire chief says the total cost of cleaning up debris from the May 22 tornado should be submitted in the next couple of weeks.

Officials from the city met last week with representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. At the meeting, FEMA officials explained what paperwork that needs to fill out to be reimbursed "for costs the city incurred clearing debris from public property" after the May 22 tornado, said Fire Chief Mark Kuhnly.

He said any departments that participated in the cleanup are collecting information, finishing the paperwork and will submit it to FEMA this week or next.
