City Of Golden Valley: Join The GVFD At The Recruitment Meeting Tonight And Expo Sat, July 31

The Golden Valley Fire Department’s final recruitment meeting of the summer is tonight at 6:30 pm and its Recruitment Expo is Sat, July 31, 9 am. If you are interested in becoming a paid, on-call firefighter, the GVFD strongly recommends attending these events to determine if the position is right for you.

Recruitment meetings and the recruitment expo are great places to meet face to face with firefighters and learn about the hiring process, training, schedules, and try out some firefighting skills. Although attending this events isn’t required for hiring, it is highly recommended.

The deadline for applying to become a paid on-call firefighter is Aug 9, 11:59 pm. Applications can be found on City website under Employment Opportunities.

To be a Golden Valley firefighter, you must live or work within nine minutes of a City fire station and be age 18 or older. It also helps to be in good shape and have a clean driving and criminal record. For questions about becoming a Golden Valley Firefighter, call 763-593-8079.
