Here's a sampling of the many events you can check out on the weekends in Golden Valley. (This is not a full list by any means so if you have or know about a weekend event please mention it in the comment section below or in our events calendar.)

• Don't forget about the Kids, Cops and Firefighters Fair starting at noon, Friday, July 26, at the Crystal Shopping Center on Bass Lake Road and West Broadway in nearby Crystal. The free event will feature Radio Disney, the Crystal Police Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the West Metro Fire District. Check out Patch for more details.

• You can try a simple and effective way to make sure if you're pet is lost at a class 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society off Hwy 55. According the Society's website you can "increase your chances of being reunited with your animal friend by joining us at one of our Microchip and Nail Trim clinics. This convenient, low-cost event makes it easy for you to get your pet microchipped, and, if you choose, have his/her nails clipped too. Microchipping is $30 plus tax and nail trims are $15 plus tax. Anal gland expression is also offered at $20 plus tax."

• Get your chance to learn how to create a landscape portrait painting at class 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at King of Grace Lutheran Church. Find out more on Patch.

• The weekly Market in the Valley continues 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays including this Sunday, July 28, under the Golden Valley water tour at City Hall off Winnetka Avenue. You can find plenty of fresh produce, homemade items, crafts, live music and entertainment and much more each week. It's free to attend and you can support local farms and businesses.
