Golden Valley Man Charged with Distributing Cocaine

A Golden Valley man has been charged with felony drug distribution after authorities say they found 30 grams of cocaine in his home.
Stephen John Gray, 47, was arrested Aug. 31 after deputies executed a search warrant at his home in the 1000 block of Sumter Avenue North.
He is charged with felony drug possession with intent to distribute, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Gray remains in the Hennepin County Jail on a $50,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 21 in Hennepin County District Court.
Hennepin County sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Gray’s home just before 11:30 a.m. Aug. 31, according to a criminal complaint by Deputy Carrie Donarski.

Deputies found Gray a short distance away from the home and handed him the warrant. Inside Gray’s home, authorities found a “large amount” of cash, plastic bag tear-offs with suspected cocaine residue and about 30 grams of cocaine, according to the complaint.
Deputies found cocaine in a box on the living room table. With it they also found an identification card with Gray’s name on it and a digital scale.
