KARE 11 Evacuated After Transformer Fire, Newscasts Moved To Backup Locations
It's unclear if the fire damaged any broadcast equipment. Sunrise aired from a sister station in Atlanta.

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN — KARE 11 was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a significant transformer fire broke out on the building’s south side, the NBC affiliate said. No injuries were reported.
As of Wednesday morning, employees still cannot access the building, and it's unclear if the fire damaged any infrastructure or broadcast equipment.
Tuesday’s 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts were broadcast from a remote location near the station's tower in Shoreview. The shows aired in a more basic format, with lower-than-usual image quality, the station said.
