Klobuchar Will Talk About Life, Not Politics At Local Event

At 7 p.m tonight, through an organization called Women, Wisdom and Wine, residents can listen to Sen. Amy Klobuchar and her father, Jim, talk about how the campaign trail has impacted their father-daughter relationship.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar's attendance at a Golden Valley event tonight has nothing to do with politics.

It's not a political fundraiser or a chance for the Plymouth native to preach her beliefs. Instead, through an organization called Women, Wisdom and Wine, Klobuchar and her father, Jim, will sit down with attendees and talk about the nuances of their father-daughter relationship.

"It will be an amazing night," said Claudia Ryan-Mosley, founder of Women, Wisdom and Wine. "At this stage, no one needs to hear what Senator Klobuchar believes in, most people already know. But what people don’t know is who is she as a person."

After retiring from her 15-year career in commercial real estate, Ryan-Mosley, of Minnetonka, felt like something was missing.

As a mother to three daughters, Ryan-Mosley spent the majority of her life taking care of her children and working. But leaving commercial real estate left Ryan-Mosley hungry for knowledge.

The drive to stay informed in today's busy world caused Ryan-Mosley to create Women, Wisdom and Wine, a membership-based organization that focuses on keeping busy women abreast of current affairs through a monthly speaker series.

"It's difficult for women to pull themselves out of their world for an evening and take care of themselves," Ryan-Mosley said. "But we provide a fun environment to come to and learn from."

For $300 a year, members of Women, Wisdom and Wine can attend nine speaking events at The Metropolitan Ballroom and Clubroom in Golden Valley. In addition to listening to local experts talk about faith, politics, finances and other topics, members can enjoy a free beverage and snack on appetizers.

"Every one of my speakers has a connection to Minnesota, and they are experts in the topics that we choose," Ryan-Mosley said. "It's been a fabulous success."
