Letter: Linda Higgins Will 'Hit The Ground Running'

I am voting in support of Linda Higgins for Hennepin County Commissioner on November 6.  Let me tell you why. The County is facing a variety of challenges -- maintaining county roads, keeping HCMC financially viable and there for us and keeping our highways safe and fighting crime are just a few. The State and federal budget problems mean fewer dollars are available and creativity and experience are needed to help the County continue to provide these vital services.

Linda Higgins has that creativity and experience. She has worked at the State and City levels of government and has the relationships needed to "hit the ground running" on day one. 

This position is too important to hope that on-the-job training will eventually bring us the wisdom and experience needed to tackle the problems facing our County.   

Mark Stenglein, our former Commissioner, did a great job for Golden Valley and I am happy that Linda Higgins is willing to step up and bring her vast portfolio of skills to this position.  Please join me in electing Linda Higgins to the Hennepin County Board on November 6.
