According to the criminal complaints, signed by Detective Laura Gould, someone called police on June 6 and said she had seen a man going through a window at a neighbor’s house in the 100 block of Burntside Drive.

The caller described the intruder and said she had also seen a blue van that had dropped him off.

When police arrived, the burglarβ€”later identified as Jonesβ€”was still inside the home, wearing black clothing and white gloves, according to the complaint. When he climbed back out the window that he had used to get into the house, police ordered him onto the ground.

Officers found a black wallet, an iPod, a BlackBerry and a pocket knife in Jones’ pockets, the complaint says.

Police found a blue van near the house and stopped the driver, who was identified as Emory.

The homeowner arrived and identified the iPod and the BlackBerry as hers.

Police subsequently interviewed Jones, who admitted that he and Emoryβ€”his cousinβ€”had talked about breaking into homes to steal items because they both needed money, according to the complaint. They planned to sell the items and split the proceeds, he told police.
