Minneapolis Park And Recreation Board Wants Your Opinion About Events
The results will help board members create new policies for security and announcements.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board would like your opinion about special events in its parks and parkways—including Theodore Wirth Park.
The board has created an online survey. The survey results will help the board develop new policies "that will balance the needs of parkway residents, special event participants, special event groups and general park users," according to a board news release.
The survey questions focus on security in the parks, announcements of events, site overuse and event administration.

The proposed changes are listed in a report on the MPRB Website.
The last time the board's special events policies were updated was 1999 and since then the number of events permits has increased significantly.

Board members do not expect to implement most of the changes until next year; they will, however, change how they notify the public about events sooner than that, according to the news release.
The deadline to fill out the survey is 5 p.m. Aug. 12.
The survey and report also can be found on the MPRB homepage at the link titled “Special Event Policy Survey.”
