A very expensive 401(k) investment management frame of mind.

The longer you hold on to it the more 401(k) stock market gains you don’t have.

Sure, most every 401(k) mutual fund was “up” in 2024.

But did you get the stock market gains you deserve?

For the amount of stock market risk you took last year.

Easy to not have the need to pay close attention.

To realize completely misguided 401(k) mutual fund choices.

Reevaluate each 401(k) mutual fund you own now.

Based on last year’s stock market investment returns.

Versus the S&P 500. Versus other 401(k) mutual fund options available.

Do you own the handful of best mutual funds offered in your 401(k)?

Not all 401(k) mutual fund succeed. Last year was a perfect example.

So, take a look at last year’s investment returns as an example.

You can’t change your past 401(k) mutual fund picks.

But you can use past investment performance of those picks.

To improve the 401(k) mutual funds you own now. And going forward.

Logic. Math. Discipline.

No 401(k) rule says you can’t sell an underperforming mutual fund.
