- Enjoy Shady Oak Beach: Summer is on the wane. Enjoy the nice days while they’re still here at Shady Oak Beach. The beach is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Aug. 1 and then 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 through Aug. 25. Swimming in the lake ends a half hour before sunset.
- Listen to Downtown Park drumming: Hopkins ArtStreet performances kick off Saturday with the Slap Sisters Drummers. Performance takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Downtown Park.
- Watch A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The Main Street School of Performing Arts is sponsoring performances of Shakespeare’s magical play. The free show features Main Street School of Performing Arts students, as well as college students and recent college graduates. The play takes place in the parking lot behind the school July 25-27 and Aug. 2 and 3. All performances are at 8 p.m.
