Just days after Minneapolis Public Schools confirmed the hiring of a new Washburn High School principal, that new principal, Patrick Exner, has been put on administrative leave following accusations of him tampering with test results at his previous school, Ubah Medical Academy in Hopkins.
Exner is accused of falsifying students' state test scores in his former job as deputy head of Ubah. The accusations are described in a "detailed" letter sent to Minneapolis schools officials and state regulators, according to the Star Tribune.
"As with any allegation, we should not necessarily assume that it is true. MPS will do its due diligence to investigate this matter and, until this process concludes, Mr. Exner will be on administrative leave," a statement from the Minneapolis Public Schools read. "It is our intention to resolve this matter as quickly as possible and continue with our focus on providing a strong start to the school year."
