• Terry Lee Degn, 72, Becker (wjon.com) — Howard Lake readers may remember Terry Degn, a Howard Lake High School graduate who later made his home in Becker and worked decades at Model Landscaping in Rogers. He passed away December 3 at age 72, leaving behind his wife, children, stepchild, siblings, and many friends. Per his wishes, there will be no public service, but his family extends heartfelt thanks to his caregivers.
   

• Students push key policy ideas forward (hometownsource.com) — Howard Lake is on the map as local students join peers from across Minnesota at the Changemakers Youth Policy Forum, helping shape proposals on mental health, housing, gun violence, and education access. Their ideas may become bills in the 2026 Legislature, giving young people from communities like Howard Lake a direct voice in statewide decisions.
