• The carnival thieves (herald-journal.com) — Hutchinson readers get a vivid slice of local history in this 1938 tale of carnival workers who stole equipment from an eat stand at the town fairgrounds. Hutchinson police, aided by a K‑9 unit, patiently staked out a cornfield, caught the thieves returning for their stash, and marched them off to the county jail in Glencoe.
