INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MN — A senior at Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights was the first woman to win the Minnesota Golf Champions tournament on Sunday, The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Isabella McCauley, of Southview Country Club, won the 47th-annual event with rounds of 66, 71 and 70, the publication reported.

McCauley was also recently the youngest Minnesotan to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open, according to the report.

The Star Tribune also named McCauley the Star Tribune All-Metro Girls' Athlete of the Year.

She has committed to attending the University of Minnesota, The Star Tribune reported.
