Inver Hills Student Senate Earns Second Consecutive Star Campus Award

The Inver Hills Student Senate was one of just 10 throughout Minnesota to win recognition.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from IHCC.

For the second year in a row, the Student Senate was awarded Star Campus status by the Minnesota State College Student Association (MSCSA).

The award is bestowed upon MSCSA’s most active student senates. Only 10 of the 47 MSCSA member senates from two-year Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system campuses achieved Star Campus status this year.

Criteria for the award include active attendance at MSCSA events; participation in MSCSA campaigns, such as the organization’s Pell Grant petition work; and recruiting students to lobby at the Minnesota Capitol. The full Star Campus criteria can be found online at mscsa.org/become-a-mscsa-star-campus.

Members of the Inver Hills Student Senate accepted the award April 22 during the MSCSA Spring General Assembly. The MSCSA represents students attending the state’s two-year technical, community and comprehensive colleges on 47 campuses advocating for more than 100,000 students across the state.
