PHOTOS: Monsrud Makes Magic With Bench Building And Bowling

Austin Monsrud's 12 benches will provide permanent seating inside a pavilion at the Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings.

In an effort to earn an Eagle rank,  Scout Austin Monsrud decided to build 12 benches for Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings.

The benches, Monsrud said, will be used to provide permanent seating in a pavilion at the Center.

"A project like this takes a lot of hard work and determination," Monsrud said. "But when your friends get together to help you raise money for something like this it's ... magical."
