In an effort to earn an Eagle rank,  Scout Austin Monsrud decided to build 12 benches for <a href="http://carpenternaturecenter.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Carpenter Nature Center</a> in Hastings.  The benches, Monsrud said, will be used to provide permanent seating in a pavilion at the Center. "A project like this takes a lot of hard work and determination," Monsrud said. "But when your friends get together to help you raise money for something like this it's ... magical."   To fund the project, Monsrud held a bowling tournament at  Wednesday night.  Patch was there to capture the high schoolers alongside city councilman Chip Grannis.
