<p>In an effort to encourage conservation, maintain adequate water pressure, and ensure fire-fighting reserves, Inver Grove Heights is mandating specific times for folks hoping to sprinkle their lawns, wash their cars and water their shrubs.</p> <p>Inver Grove Heights Patch is running this reminder to make sure homeowners aren't cited for violation of the summer watering codes. </p> <h2><strong>No Watering Allowed</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Every day of the week between noon-5 p.m.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Alternating Water Schedule</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Residents and businesses with addresses ending in an even number (2, 4, 6, etc.) are allowed to water on even calendar days. </li> <li>Those with addresses ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, etc.) are allowed to water on odd days. </li> </ul> <h2><strong>Exemptions</strong></h2> <ul> <li>If a hose is equipped with an automatic shut-off, IGH residents <strong>are</strong> allowed to wash vehicles and do hand-held watering of shrubs, flowers and trees on any day of the week, at any time.</li> <li>Children <strong>are</strong> allowed to run through sprinklers (and other recreational use) on any day of the week, at any time. </li> <li>Homes and businesses with new sod or landscaping do <strong>not</strong> need to follow the odd-even restrictions for unattended watering during the first 30 days following planting.
