REMINDER: Inver Grove Heights Watering Restrictions
Be sure you're in compliance with the city's watering schedule that runs from now until the end of summer.
In an effort to encourage conservation, maintain adequate water pressure, and ensure fire-fighting reserves, Inver Grove Heights is mandating specific times for folks hoping to sprinkle their lawns, wash their cars and water their shrubs.
Inver Grove Heights Patch is running this reminder to make sure homeowners aren't cited for violation of the summer watering codes.
No Watering Allowed
- Every day of the week between noon-5 p.m.
Alternating Water Schedule
- Residents and businesses with addresses ending in an even number (2, 4, 6, etc.) are allowed to water on even calendar days.
- Those with addresses ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, etc.) are allowed to water on odd days.
Exemptions
- If a hose is equipped with an automatic shut-off, IGH residents are allowed to wash vehicles and do hand-held watering of shrubs, flowers and trees on any day of the week, at any time.
- Children are allowed to run through sprinklers (and other recreational use) on any day of the week, at any time.
- Homes and businesses with new sod or landscaping do not need to follow the odd-even restrictions for unattended watering during the first 30 days following planting. The midday ban from noon to 5 p.m. must still be followed.
