• Tusa top FFA fruit salesperson — two years running (jacksoncountypilot.com) — A Jackson County Central FFA sophomore has been named the chapter’s top fruit salesperson for the second year in a row, selling more than $4,000 worth this season. She was recognized during last week’s JCC FFA Crop Show and Degree Ceremony in Jackson, where she also earned champion specialty crop exhibitor honors.
   

• Okabena Fire Department receives donation of soy-based firefighting foam (dglobe.com) — Jackson’s fire department is among several in the area receiving donated pails of SoyFoam, a soy-based firefighting foam free of intentionally added PFAS chemicals. Local soybean growers say the product should better protect firefighters’ health while also supporting Jackson County agriculture and new uses for soybeans.
