Firefighters responded Wednesday afternoon to reports of fire on Brown Road in Orono.
Long Lake Fire Chief James Van Eyll said flames were sparked by a burned out furnace motor and that the situation was quickly brought under control.
No injuries were reported and damage to property was minimal.
