Campus News: Lake Minnetonka College Students Earn Academic Honors

Excelsior resident Stephen Carroll received his BBA in accounting and finance from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI. He is the son of Daniel and Debbra Carroll of Excelsior.

The following local students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.

• Andrew Weingart of Excelsior is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in biomechanics.
• Stephen Adams of Orono is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
• Sarah Farley of Wayzata is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.

The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris Dean's List for the 2012 spring semester. Students on the list achieved a grade point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits.

• Kaijsa Benson, of Excelsior
• Samuel Fettig, of Excelsior
• Brita Humphrey, of Excelsior
• David Schilmoeller, of Mound

Britt Swenson graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Colorado College. Swenson is the daughter of Dane Swenson and Molly Conlon of Minnetonka and Kelley Swenson of Wayzata.

Jillian Gronberg of Deephaven was named to the spring 2012 Dean's List at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Dean's List members have achieved a 3.75 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale. Gronberg was listed as a sophomore this past year with a major in nursing.

Colorado College awarded 525 undergraduate degrees and five master of arts in teaching degrees at its 130th commencement ceremony last month on Armstrong Quad.

• Diane Ahern graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics. Ahern is the daughter of Paul and Mary Ahern of Deephaven.
• Sarah Fischer graduated with a bachelor's degree in anthropology. Fischer is the daughter of Dennis Fischer and Judy Thompson Fischer of Wayzata.
• Rachel Hedlund graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Hedlund is the daughter of Amy Apperson and Jeffrey Hedlund of Wayzata.
• Genevieve Kerr graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology. Kerr is the daughter of Ian and Rose-Mary Kerr of Excelsior.
• Nicholas Palombo graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. Palombo is the son of John and Susan Palombo of Wayzata.

Keel Dietz of Shorewood graduated Cum Laude from Bowdoin College, majoring in economics and government and legal studies.
