Council supports Habitat for Humanity application for Affordable Housing Incentive Fund (AHIF) grant
The city council adopted a resolution supporting Habitat Humanity’s application for $60,000 in Affordable Housing Incentive Fund grant funding. Habitat for Humanity is in discussion with Mills Church to construct two single-family homes for long-term affordable ownership at 13201 Minnetonka Boulevard. If Habitat comes forward with another project on the site, it will go through the concept review process.

Council approves City Manager Recruitment Brochure and search timeline, commences recruitment
The city council approved the City Manager Recruitment Brochure developed by GovHR, approved the recruitment timeline, and commenced the recruitment process. The recruitment process is estimated to be completed by July.
Council adopts resolutions concerning Unmapped Brewing at 14625 Excelsior Boulevard
The city council adopted three ordinances related to Unmapped Brewing Co. at 14625 Excelsior Boulevard. These ordinances approved a conditional use permit for a coffee shop, approved a conditional use permit for a 1,500 square foot rooftop patio, and approved a parking variance for Glen Lake Shopping Center. This will expand the property into the adjacent tenant space.
Council approves proposed use of 2022-2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds
The city council held a public hearing, approved the proposed use of the city’s 2022-2023 Community Development Block Grant Funds, and authorized Hennepin County to carry out the proposed activities. The allotted $141,636 will be applied to the Home Rehabilitation Program.
Council accepts the 2022 Assessment Report
The city council received a report from assessing staff on 2022 property tax information and accepted the 2022 Assessment Report. March 1, 2022 property tax information will be updated on the Hennepin County website, with mailing of 2022 property tax bills to follow.
The city council adopted resolutions approving the final site and buildings plan, conditional use permit, and comprehensive guide plan amendment for a new 36,300 square foot educational building for the Vantage/Momentum programs at 5735 County Road 101. The property, which is already owned by Minnetonka Independent School District, is adjacent to the Clear Springs Elementary School and district administrative offices.
Council approves appointments to Senior Advisory Board and Sustainability Commission
The city council approved the appointment of Sharon Berg and Susan Mohr to the Senior Advisory Board, and Elizabeth Boor to the Sustainability Commission, for terms beginning March 1, 2022 and ending on January 31, 2024.
