Cops Cuff Fugitive Suspected of Burglarizing Area Homes

, who has been wanted by police since May in connection with several area burglaries, was caught Wednesday night.

Boemer was found in the area of East 19th Street and Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis, allegedly in a stolen Lexus.

On May 23, the issued a bulletin on Boemer. He was identified as a suspicious person who was seen in the Holdridge neighborhood near the border of Minnetonka and Wayzata, where a burglary was committed on Monday, May 21.

He is also suspected of several other home invasions, including one in western Wayzata near the Orono border.

Police say Boemer is homeless and has been known to use public transportation to travel from Minneapolis to the western suburbs.

Boemer managed to evade Wayzata and Minnetonka police in late May after he was spotted in the area south of Hwy. 394 near Hwy. 101, but cops caught up to him late Wednesday evening.

Boemer is believed to be responsible for multiple home invasions in the Wayzata and Minnetonka area, the most recent of which . A $1,000 reward had been issued for information leading to his capture.

Boemer has been convicted twice of burglary offenses in Minnetonka. He was sentenced to just under four years in prison after a 1997 felony conviction and given 96 months after being found guilty in 2000 of felony-level burglary.
